WHEN YOU CALL MY NAME, IT’S LIKE A LITTLE PRAYER
Is it fine if I say I miss you, if it means you’ll cling tighter to me? Is it okay if I say I want you, if it means you’ll press your lips against mine a little longer? The more I call you perfect, the more I hold your attention. It seems the more words I say, the more you desire from me, and the more I desire from you. When you’re done holding, kissing, and offering your attention, you’re ready then to speak — so I sit patiently and still, ready for you to deliver your sermon, my devotion to you unyielding. Hanging on every word, I live in this moment to serve you. Anticipating that you’ll say all the right things, praying you’ll say anything at all. And after you’re done, I recoil back into place, telling you I want you more and more every day — it’s okay for you to say you want more too.
I’M DOWN ON MY KNEES, I WANT TO TAKE YOU THERE
God protect us from a Yankees/Dodgers World Series this year. I’ll be away from my home for a few days this week, and I’m excited but I’ll be missing Phoenix and my people very much. Peace and love to you all.
